Brittany Schlichter, a 2014 homeschool graduate, is the author of A Trophy in My Heart, an inspirational book that encourages others to memorize God’s Word and shares Brittany’s journey of learning Scripture through the National Bible Bee Competition. Brittany was a national qualifier in the National Bible Bee for six years and won second place twice, an experience that helped her learn how to study Scripture and led her to memorize 26 books of the Bible. Brittany has a passion for encouraging others in Bible memory/study and enjoys reciting Scripture and speaking at conferences and other events: www.letthewordbeheard.com. As a single, she has a heart to encourage other young women to study the Word of God and to know it deeply, so that it can transform every aspect of their lives! Brittany has continued her involvement in the National Bible Bee through contest judging, and also founded a Bible Bee Alumni Group with the purpose of encouraging alumni to continue learning Scripture. She lives with her family in Deep East Texas, where she enjoys spending time in the outdoors, baking, singing, and working as her church secretary.

Ruth Adams was raised in a pastor’s home serving in ministry alongside her parents where she learned that it is a joy and a privilege to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.  She is now a wife and homeschooling mother to her own seven children.  When Ruth is not training her children she can be found encouraging other ladies to “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.”  Ruth has authored several books and is the host of The Legacy Homeschool Reflections Podcast.  She is passionate about the topics of living out the gospel and embracing family discipleship. Ruth desires to see women of all ages get into the Word in order to experience transformation through the renewing of their hearts and minds.

Retreat Details

WHEN:

April 20–22, 2023 (Thursday afternoon–Saturday evening; check-in is from 1:30–3:30 pm on Thursday)

WHO:

Ladies 18+ (13–17 year-olds are welcome to attend with an accompanying adult)

COST:

$65 per person, plus lodging price of $30/person, per night. Registration includes delicious meals for the entire event (Thursday dinner–Saturday dinner), inspiring sessions, study materials, and activities. Registration closes on March 31st, 2023.

WHERE:

Sam Rayburn Retreat in Broaddus, Texas. Nestled in the East Texas Piney Woods near the shores of Lake Sam Rayburn, this retreat center offers the perfect setting for R&R, heart-to-heart talks, and peaceful walks. The Ruth Retreat is a time for you to step aside from your normal routine and enjoy time in the Word and in fellowship with other believers, in a relaxing yet invigorating atmosphere!
